One end of the cable is welded shut, the
other end is terminated to flexible power leads. With the capability to be
formed into many shapes, the cable heater adaptable to a variety of
applications.
Swaged or drawn alloy cable, compacted magnesium
oxide and a helical or straight resistance element are the assembled
components of the cable heater. Small diameters and cross-sections allow a
quick response, providing heat in tight spaces where most heaters cannot be
installed.
The typically spiral design allows heat to be applied to the
full circumference of the part. Also available is a square profile design
that increases surface contact for improved conductive heat transfer.
An internal thermocouple in some sizes allows for precise temperature
monitoring and control.
Cable heaters are available with standard
high temperature leads (250°c), flexible stainless steel braided lead
protection or with stainless steel armor cable. The typically spiral design
allows heat to be applied to the full circumference of the part.
The
cable heater diameter Ø3.2mm,
Ø4.2mm, Ø5.2mm and 3.8 x 3.8mm, 4.3 x 4.3mm, 5.2 X 5.2mm
also available is a square profile design that
increases surface contact for improved conductive heat transfer.
An internal thermocouple in some sizes allows before precise
temperature mounting and control.
